False veterinarian arrested in Los Teques for the death of pet and affectation to 15 animals

Osé Antonio González Márquez, 36, was apprehended by police officers in Los Teques, Miranda State, for his alleged responsibility in the death of a pet and for affecting the health of at least 15 animals, between dogs and cats. The individual illegally exercised as a veterinarian.

González Márquez had already been previously captured by usurping functions of this type. The most recent arrest occurred after a citizen complaint in which he is accused of causing the death of a pet by applying an alleged veterinary treatment.

According to the complaint, González Márquez’s treatments affected more than 15 pets, some of which died as a result of the medical procedures practiced.

The regional media El Tequeño reported that during the capture operation boxes of animal medicines were seized in possession of the false veterinarian.

Another case in Miranda:

In a similar case, also in the Miranda state, a man identified as Yorman Diennell Contreras Lando was arrested for trying to operate two cats. Contreras Lando illegally exercised veterinary medicine in a commercial premises located on Cruz Paredes Avenue with Monagas Street. Officials of the Directorate of Environmental Surveillance and Patrolness of the Bolivarian National Police acted after receiving multiple complaints against him.

Recommendation:

The authorities call on the community to verify the certification and credentials of veterinary professionals before trusting their pets. It is urged to denounce any suspicious activity related to the illegal exercise of veterinary medicine.
