The administration, identification, migration and foreigner service (SAIME) postponed the cedulation operation from February 5 to 8, prior to the April elections.
Saime offices cedulation
Instead of the Bolívar squares, it will now be held at the National Saime offices. A previous appointment will not be necessary to obtain the identity document. This change seeks to facilitate the renewal process before the parliamentary and governor elections of April 27.
Details of the cedding operation
The operation will run from February 8 to April 26, operating from 8am to 6pm. Only people over 18 can renew their identity document.
According to media X reports, this change responds to the need to increase accessibility to the renewal of cards, crucial to guarantee participation in the elections. However, concerns have been expressed about the ability of offices to handle demand without previous appointments, considering the history of long lines and delays in government procedures in Venezuela.
