A powerful 8.0 magnitude earthquake on the Richter scale was recorded on Saturday afternoon at the Caribbean Sea, generating a Tsunami alert that covers numerous countries and territories in the region.
According to the United States Geological Service (USGS), the epicenter of the earthquake was located preliminary at 202 kilometers southwest of Georgetown, capital of the Cayman Islands.
After the telluric movement, the United States National and Atmospheric National Administration (NOA) issued a Tsunami alert that includes more than a dozen countries and territories of the Caribbean, including: Colombia, Haiti, Aruba, Belize, Costa Rica, Bahamas, Cayman Islands, Cuba, Panama, Dominican Republic and Honduras.
