Infant exploitation in Caracas: arrested for forcing minors to clean glass under threats

A 38 -year -old man was arrested in Caracas by officials of the Corps of Scientific, Criminal and Criminal Investigations (Cicpc) for allegedly subjecting minors to «forced labor,» said the director of the Cicpc, Douglas Rico on Tuesday.

After receiving several complaints, the Division of Crime Investigations against Women, Child, Girl and Adolescent of the Cicpc carried out an investigation that culminated in the arrest of this citizen on Vollmer Avenue, La Candelaria parish, Libertador municipality, Caracas.

According to the investigation, man forced minors to «forced labor» under threats. The victims were captured by the detainee, who «trained» them to exercise vehicle glass cleaning work. However, these were threatened to harm them if they did not comply with a daily fee, whose percentage should be delivered to the perpetrator.

The investigation revealed infrahuman conditions in which these victims exercised work. The Cicpc did not specify the number of affected, but indicated that the investigation continues to determine the magnitude of the crime and find other possible involved.
