Trump talks to Putin and Zelenski to negotiate the end of war in Ukraine and says they both want «peace»

The president of the United States, Donald Trump, said Wednesday that he reached an agreement with his Russian counterpart, Vladimir Putin, so that both countries initiate «negotiations immediately» with the aim of ending the war in Ukraine.

Trump explained that he spoke with Zelenski of «a variety of issues related to war», but especially the «meeting that is being organized for Friday in Munich, where vice president JD Vance and Secretary of State, Marco Rubio, will lead the US delegation.

According to a senior American official, Vance plans to meet on Friday with Zelenski on the banks of the Munich Security Conference, a key forum on international policy that this year acquires a special relevance for the critical moment that Ukraine is going through.

Before talking with Zelenski, Trump spoke by phone with Putin and, in another message in Truth Social, he announced that they had reached an agreement for both countries to initiate «negotiations immediately» with the aim of ending the war in Ukraine.

As Trump explained in his social network social, the agreement with Putin was achieved after a «long and very productive phone call», in which both leaders expressed their willingness to «stop the millions of deaths that are taking place in the war between Russia and Ukraine ».

Trump explained that the United States and Russia «will begin negotiations immediately» and that the US delegation will be headed by the Secretary of State, Marco Rubio; the director of the CIA, John Ratcliffe; The White House National Security Advisor, Michael Waltz, and the special envoy, Steve Witkoff.
