Brazil: Evangelical Pastor murdered a teenager for having «beaten» on the face

Pastor João Das Graças Pachola was arrested this Friday after confessing the murder of the minor Stefany Vitória Teixeira Ferreira, 13. The subject affirmed to the authorities that the crime was motivated by an incident in which the adolescent would have «beaten in the face.»

Police chief Ingrid Estevam said Pachola, after receiving the coup, was enraged and strangled Stefany. Subsequently, he threw his body on a waste landfill in Ribeirão Das Neves, in the Metropolitan Region of Belo Horizonte. The girl’s body was discovered on Tuesday, February 11.

Stefany had been missing since Sunday, February 9, when she left her home with the intention of visiting a friend, but never reached her destination. The Civil Police revealed that the shepherd offered the girl a transport to her destination.

Although the researchers continue to investigate to clarify the circumstances surrounding the death of the teenager, the police suspect that Stefany suffered sexual abuse. To corroborate the fact, the agents requested a forensic test to determine it.

A key point in the investigation was a complaint filed by a couple who observed suspicious activities related to the pastor’s vehicle. Witnesses reported that they saw a young woman out of the car and fall to the side of the road, at which time the man got out of the vehicle violently and introduced her again into the car.

Police, after verifying the registration of the car, located to the shepherd, who had been missing since the same day that Stefany was reported as absent. After an operation of more than 24 hours, the suspect was found in a house in Fontm, where he confessed the crime and revealed the place where the victim’s body in Ribeirão Das Neves had discarded.

The local media G1 stressed that Stefany’s mother had sought assistance from the pastor two years ago due to problems his daughter faced, but as indicated, he denied the help. In addition, the investigations suggest that the pastor had problems with his spouse and was a cocaine consumer, although he has no police record.

This February 14, the First Criminal Court and Jury Court of the District of Ribeirão Das Neves ordered preventive detention for the offender.
