Polimaracaibo stops a man for stealing and assaulting a woman with a knife

A 19 -year -old man was arrested by police officers from the Maracaibo municipality (Polimaracaibo) after being presumably trying to steal a woman with a knife on Guajira Avenue with 21st Street, Juana de Ávila parish.

The detainee was identified as Jesús Manuel Zuñiga Estabilito, who, according to the police report, would have threatened the victim with a white weapon to strip her of her belongings.

The arrest occurred thanks to the rapid intervention of the Canine Patrol Unit of Polimaracaibo, which was performing routine work in the area. The officials were alerted by a citizen who witnessed the attempted robbery, and after a brief persecution, they managed to capture Zuñiga stabilito in the vicinity of the Canchanche 1 neighborhood.

After his arrest, the subject was transferred to the Adolfo Pons hospital for a medical evaluation, where it was found that he was in good health. Subsequently, he was taken to the Polimaracaibo command, in the Lake Mar Beach urbanization, where he was under shelter.

The case has been sent to the Public Ministry to initiate the corresponding investigations and the responsibility of the detainee in the attempted robbery is determined.

Polimaracaibo reinforces security in the area

This criminal act has generated concern among the residents of the Juana de Ávila parish, who demand a greater police presence in the area. Given this situation, Polimaracaibo has announced that it will reinforce security on Guajira Avenue and its surroundings, with the aim of preventing future criminal acts and guaranteeing the tranquility of citizens.
