The great Morocco Stadium for the 2030 World Cup will be ready in December 2027

The future Hassan II Stadium of Casablanca, which Morocco proposes to house the 2030 World Cup final that organizes together with Spain and Portugal, will be ready for December 2027.

The date was informed this Thursday during a meeting of the Monitoring Manager Committee for the Sports Stadiums for the African Cup of Nations of 2025 and the 2030 World Cup, chaired by the Head of Moroccan Government, Aziz Ajanuch.

«The Committee took note of the progress of the construction works of the Hassan II Stadium in Benslimane, according to the FIFA standards, which will be ready in December 2027, with a view to housing the 2020 World Cup matches,» reads the note.

In addition, the Committee also referred to the remodeling works of nine stadiums that will house the African Cup of Nations this year, and pointed out that they will be ready «according to the established calendar» between March and August.

The Great Hassan II Stadium in Casablanca, which will have a capacity of 115,000 spectators, is currently under construction on an area of ​​more than 100 hectares in the middle of a forest in Mansouria, in the town of Benslimán, about 38 kilometers north of Casablanca.

The main architect of this giant infrastructure, Tarik Oualou, recently said in an interview with Efe that the sports venue will be «of the last generation», in accordance with the FIFA guidelines, will have the HQE certification and will take into account the experiences taken from the previous editions.
