They stop for hours and prevent Mass from attending Felix Navarro and his wife

The political prisoner Félix Navarro, recently released after the Vatican negotiations with the Cuban regime, denounced that the police authorities prevented him from attending Mass this Sunday.

Police officers parked about twenty meters from the house of Navarro and his wife, the lady of Blanco Sonia Álvarez Campillo, went to the passage of marriage that was heading to the Catholic Church of the Matancero town of Perico, where they reside.

“When we left, at 8 and 30 in the morning, there were two patrol cars there and five military. One civil dress, because he is an officer of the State Security, is called Frank Marino Moya, ”said Martí News Navarro, president of the Party for Democracy Pedro Luis Boitel.

The police informed Navarro that on the orders of the «Headquarters» he cannot leave his home, because he is under probation.

The opponent’s response, sentenced to nine years in prison for events linked to the protests of July 11 and 12, 2021, was that they had not informed him of this restriction in the Execution Court, on January 29, to which he had to present himself after being released.

A restriction that is, at the same time, a transgression to his religious faith, he said.

The agents arrested Navarro and his wife: “They set up Sonia in one patrol and me in the other. With the fuel crisis there is! Two patrols and five military for two peaceful people who go to the Church. They pursue religiosity in Cuba. ”

Three hours later the marriage of activists was released, after they were made a «warning act.»

Before leaving the police station, Navarro transmitted a message to the repressor bodies of the Ministry of Interior through Lieutenant Colonel Orlando Figueroa Betancourt, second head of confrontation to the counterrevolution in the province of Matanzas, which had been presented there.

«I said, I am going to give a chance to the security of the State not to have to defeat them in court: if on Sunday they do not arrest any white lady in the province of Matanzas, I do not go to the court, but if they arrest … to a single one that arrest, I am introducing myself on Monday, opening an accusation against them,» he said.

The Council for the Democratic Transition in Cuba (CTDC), an organization of which Navarro is vice president, condemned «the systematic repression of the Cuban government against those who think differently.»

«We urge the International Press, human rights organizations and democratic governments to condemn this roller and raise the voice against political persecution in Cuba,» said the Council.
