Migration Colombia clarifies admission requirements for Venezuelans: Output ticket and defeated passports

Migration Colombia has issued an official statement to clarify the doubts of Venezuelan citizens about the entered the country, especially with regard to the exit ticket and the validity of defeated passports.

The immigration entity seeks to dissipate the confusion generated around the obligation of the output ticket, detailing the various options to meet this requirement.

Output ticket options:

• Migration Colombia has specified that the output ticket can be air, land, maritime or river.
• For those who cross the terrestrial border, a ticket to destinations is accepted within Colombia, such as Cúcuta, Riohacha, Arauca, Puerto Carreño or Inírida, due to the difficulties in obtaining direct flights to Venezuela.
• In case of transit or short stays, travelers must also have the exit ticket, and the ability to solve their expenses during their stay.

Overdue passports:

• Income with expired Venezuelan passports is allowed, provided that the expiration date does not exceed 10 years, in accordance with resolution 2231 of 2021.

Recommendations:

• Migration Colombia urges travelers to comply with current regulations and carry the necessary documentation to avoid inconveniences in the immigration control points.

These clarifications aim to facilitate the mobility of Venezuelan citizens, while the migratory controls are maintained.
