«They tell me that I have to be dressed in another color»

The author authorities La Bellotex, in Matanzas, prevented the lady of Blanco Sonia Álvarez Campillo from visiting her daughter for dressed in the characteristic color of the opposition group.

«They didn’t let me in because I am dressed in white,» News Álvarez Campillo, mother of the Saily Navarro political prey, who is also a member of the organization, told Martí News.

Blanco ladies are a movement that emerged in 2003 by wives and relatives of the black spring prisoners, sanctioned in high penalties for «acts against independence or territorial integrity of the State.» Among them was Félix Navarro.

After the release of the last convicted of that group, the women who integrated the group proclaimed defenders of the rights of all Cuban political prisoners. The regime of Havana accuses them of being a «political instrument of American imperialism.»

Last week, the head of the unit, Martha Cristina Hernández Bacallao, orally issued the prohibition of entry to the penitentiary establishment of Álvarez Campillo, provided that she was wearing white clothing.

«I told him that Saily is going to be three years that he is in that prison and that I have always been dressed in white and I could always enter,» said the mother of the political prisoner.

The activist denounced the illegal nature of the measure implemented against her and stressed that «they should include in the regulation that, to prisons, you cannot enter dressed in white.»

However, he said that he knows that if another person dressed in white tried to visit a inmate, «they would let her in.»

Álvarez Campillo denounced that this is another impediments and reprisals that the penitentiary authorities have put in Contubernio with the security of the State in their visits to her husband and her daughter.
