Kim Jong-UN inspected the construction of a nuclear submarine

The North Korean leader, Kim Jong-un, inspected a project for the construction of a nuclear propulsion submarine and warned that the country aspires to «project without limitation» its atomic capabilities in the waters of any part of the world, as reported on Saturday the state media.

The president supervised this project during his visit to some «important shipyards» of the construction of war ships, the North Korean agency KCNA collected, which did not give details of the location of these facilities or the exact date of Kim’s displacement.

During his visit, the North Korean leader reviewed the construction of «an submarine of nuclear propulsion of strategic guided missiles», in line with the decision of the regime to strengthen their defensive abilities.

The KCNA also distributed photos in which Kim appears visiting the naval construction facilities, in which you can see the bow of a large ship and other large cylindrical structures.

A nuclear propulsion submarine is one of the advanced armament systems that Kim promised to develop during the North Korean Workers Congress held in 2021, along with other assets such as spy satellites and intercontinental ballistic missiles of solid fuel.

Kim highlighted during his visit the need to also develop «overwhelming warships» as a deterrent to the enemy «hostile forces», which he accused of carrying out naval and underwater military activities «that seriously threaten the sovereignty and interests» of North Korea «constantly displaying a large number of strategic assets», according to the KCNA.

In September 2023, North Korea revealed what he described as his first nuclear tactical submarine, capable of carrying out nuclear attacks from the water. Kim then announced his plan to build more submarines, including a nuclear propulsion.
