Venezuelan dies in armed confrontation in Michoacán, Mexico

A 30 -year -old Venezuelan woman, identified as Camila S., originally from the Barinas state, died during a confrontation with state and federal forces in the municipality of Apatzingán, Michoacán, Mexico.

Camila S., who was part of an armed group, was injured during the clash with the Mexican Army and the Civil Guard, while his companions fled from the place. She was arrested in possession of a .223 caliber weapon and transferred to a hospital, where she subsequently died.

The confrontation took place during preventive patrols in the area, where the authorities seized cartridges, loaders, tactical equipment and a gray Chevrolet truck with MX5464A plates.

Arrest of five additional individuals

In a subsequent operation, the Ministry of Public Security of Michoacán (SSP) reported on the arrest of five men on a road to San Antonio La Labor, Apatzingán. These individuals carried four rifles, a gun, four ballistic vests, 17 loaders and 2,141 useful cartridges.

The inter -institutional operation, carried out by the Civil Guard, the Mexican Army and the National Guard, also allowed the seizure of vehicles with theft report: a Chevrolet, an Italika motorcycle and a Volkswagen.
