Ministry of Transportation announces maintenance closures in important roads in Caracas

The Ministry of Transportation reported this Sunday about the total closure of the elevated ROOSEVELT Avenue and partial closures on the Francisco Fajardo highway, renamed «Great Guaicaipuro Cacique», due to maintenance work.

Elevated from Roosevelt Avenue:

• A total closure will be applied in both directions until March 20.
• The work will be carried out uninterruptedly.

Francisco Fajardo Highway (Great Cacique Guaicaipuro):

• Partial closures will be made in some sections, from the main highway to the junction with Km 16 of the El Junquito road.
• The works will be executed from km 0 to km 10 of the Mamera – El Junquito road.
• Work schedule: 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.
• Maintenance in the Fajardo will last 6 weeks.
• This is the second maintenance on the highway, in less than a month.

The Ministry of Transportation indicated that these tasks are aimed at the rehabilitation of these important road arteries of the capital.

Previous closures on the Francisco Fajardo highway:

• In February, a partial closure was made in two circulation channels in this-west sense, from the El Rosal module.
• There was also a total closure of the accesses to the axis of tunnels in the direction of the cemetery-paradise, specifically in the El Paraíso tunnel.
• These tasks had a period of 4 weeks.

Recommendations:

• Citizens are recommended to take the necessary precautions and use alternate routes to avoid these sections during closing schedules.

The Ministry of Transportation seeks to improve the viability and safety in the roads of Caracas with these interventions.
