Venezuela prosecution investigates the death of a 19 -year -old during Carnival celebration

The Attorney General of Venezuela announced on Sunday the beginning of an investigation against a «group of people» allegedly linked to the death of a 19 -year -old during the celebration of the Carnival in Caracas.

«The young man was sharing with friends and family during the Carnival parties in the aforementioned place (Paseo Los Próceres), at which time the aggressors, participants in a game of ‘tanganas’ (aggressive game), brutally attacked him, causing his death because of the blows,» said the Public Ministry (MP, Prosecutor’s Office) on Instagram.

He added that Prosecutor’s Office 40 of the Metropolitan Area of ​​Caracas was designated to «investigate and sanction these facts, without specifying how many people will be subject to the investigations.

According to local media and social networks, the young man, identified as Luis Fernando Medina, was «wildly beaten» by a group of at least 10 people last Tuesday, March 4, a festive in Venezuela for the Carnival celebration.

The newspaper El Universal pointed out on the social network X that Medina, «who studied physiatry, was bothered because they sprayed foam in Spray, which triggered the beating against him by at least 10 young people last Tuesday, which was recorded by witnesses.»

He also said that Medina was subsequently taken to a hospital in western Caracas where he died Wednesday at dawn. EFE
