Without news from your child for almost 20 days, parents of political prisoner protest in front of the PCC

The parents of two Cuban political prisoners demonstrated on Monday in front of the provincial headquarters of the Communist Party, in San José de las Lajas, demanding faith of life of one of them, Jorge Martín Perdomo, with whom they have not communicated for more than 18 days.

More than two weeks ago, Jorge sent his parents, Martha Perdomo Benítez and Jorge Martín Blanco, a message in which he assured that his integrity is «at risk» in the correctional with internment Ho Chi Ming, where he is held, after the complaint made to officials of the Military Prosecutor’s Office about the unsafe conditions of the prison, the young man’s mother told Martí News.

“Already 18 days of not knowing anything about my children -I knew that my son had had problems there with the prison chief. He took out his spray to threaten him, although nothing happened. ”

The pepper spray or pepper gas, carrier and frequently used by Cuban repressive bodies and prisons, is extremely irritating for the eyes and can cause temporary blindness.

Jorge and Martha stood on the outskirts of the partisan enclosure showing the photo of their children and claiming concrete evidence that Jorge is in good health.

“I manifested in front of the party because I want the freedom of my children, my children are innocent. It is abuser that today my son turns 42, and his daughter said yesterday grandmother we cannot celebrate Dad’s birthday, and it hurts a lot, ”the mother lamented.

The authorities of the political entity did not provide any response to their child to marriage. A State Security Officer told them that they do not know the causes for which Jorge does not call.

Jorge and Nadir Martín Perdomo were sentenced to eight and six years of deprivation of liberty, respectively, for participating the historical popular protests that took place in Cuba in July 2021.

“Of the release, we knew that everything was going to be a lie. At first we move a lot, but then I realized that these boys are hostage, a few boys on July 11 are hostages and other political prisoners of the regime, ”said Perdomo.
