A documentary about Stan Lee will reveal that he was a victim of abuse in his last years

A documentary about the producer and creator of comics Stan Lee promises to uncover the exploitation and abuses that the Marvel icon supposedly suffered in his last years of life.

Jon Bolerjack, comics cartoonist, exasisant and friend of Lee during the last four years of his life, launched a Kickstarter financing campaign on Tuesday to finish the movie named ‘Stan Lee: The Final Chapter’.

In a advance video, Bolerjack says that the ‘Hulk’ co -creator spent his last years supporting abuse, manipulation and betrayal at the hands of a few very bad actors.

«At that time I didn’t have the power to stop it, but I had a camera and filmed everything,» adds the cartoonist.

The video shows a very old lee, who takes comics fairs to sign autographs and take photos with fans, despite being visibly exhausted.

The documentary also has testimonies such as those of the creator of ‘Deadpool’, Rob Liefeld, or Marvel Roy Thomas comics ex -.

In the advance presented on Tuesday, the reaction that other artists have to the documentary is also observed.

«Seeing Stan in those circumstances and seeing how they took advantage of him was very difficult,» said American illustrator Tyler Kirkham.

«People can see that even the man who leads the most successful creation of comics is not protected,» said Ben Bishop comics creator.

The video does not mention names of the possible involved in abuse, but shows several shots of Lee’s representative, Max Anderson, who appeared in an investigation by The Hollywood Reporter published in 2018, shortly before Lee’s death, who claimed that he had been the victim of abuse of elders.

«Bringing to light the truth is never exempt from risks. This documentary deepens the true story behind Stan Lee’s last years, exposing those who hurt him, ”says the Kickstarter website, which so far has about $ 17,000 collected from the $ 300,000 that is expected to be achieved.

Lee died on November 12, 2018 in Los Angeles at age 95.
