A man arrested when he collided with several pedestrians near the Liverpool League parade

A man was arrested on Monday after colliding with several pedestrians in the center of Liverpool (northwest of England) during the celebrations of the city’s homonymous soccer league championship, Mersyside’s police reported in a statement.

The authorities confirmed in an X post that they were attending a traffic accident in the center of Liverpool after receiving a notice after 18:00 local time (17:00 GMT) that a car had collided with «several pedestrians» in Water Street.

They also added that «the vehicle stopped at the scene and a man was arrested» on the spot.

At the moment the identity of the arrested and the number of people who have been injured or to what degree of severity are unknown.

The images published by the British media show that the police have cordoned off the area of ​​the event, where there is a large police presence, ambulances and a fire truck.
