Arrested in Maracaibo subject to sexual abuse of minors

The city of Maracaibo is dismayed after the arrest of Nerio Segundo Rubio Contreras, 51, accused of child sexual abuse. The Municipal Police of Maracaibo carried out the subject’s apprehension after an investigation that revealed an alarming modus operandi.

According to investigations, Rubio Contreras used a false profile on the Facebook social network to gain the confidence of his victims. Making a young man, he managed to deceive the minors and then abuse them and abuse them. The capture occurred on Guajira Avenue, near the North Industrial Zone, while the suspect moved by bicycle.

When verifying the data of Rubio Contreras in the Police Investigation and Information System (Syipol), the authorities discovered that it had a pending request for the crime of sexual abuse since 2014.

Victims and legal process:

So far, three victims have been identified, whose ages have not been revealed, who are now under the protection of the minors protection system. Girls mothers are being investigated for alleged abandonment.

The authorities do not rule out the possibility that there are more victims and the participation of other individuals in these crimes, so investigations remain open.

Rubio Contreras has been made available to the Public Ministry, where he will be formally accused of child sexual abuse with carnal access and lascivious acts to the detriment of the three minors.

This case has generated a deep concern in the Maracucha community, and the authorities have reaffirmed their commitment to continue working to guarantee the safety and protection of minors.
