The Venezuelan Association of Agrotechnology (AVAT) and Siagrica agreed to boost agrotechnology in alliance with their similar Colombians, Metos Latin America and Smart Crops. His plans are to dictate a diploma to multiply agricultural production in the two neighboring nations.
Agrotechnology seeks to improve the efficiency of agricultural processes, increase productivity, reduce the use of resources, modernize food quality and reduce environmental impact.
It is a strategic alliance created for the first time between Venezuelan and Colombian companies specialized in agricultural technology, explained agronomist Saúl Elías López, director of Avat and Siagrica companies.
The business agreement was signed in the city of Santa Marta where they exchanged experiences and delineated joint actions to enhance the technological development of the agricultural sector in Venezuela, Colombia and in the rest of the Latin American countries.
Promote agrotechnology
«The alliance has as its main objective to support the AVAT initiatives that focus on four fundamental pillars,» López said.
1. Dictate the first agrotechnology diploma: Programmed for April 2025 with the objective of training professionals and producers in the use of advanced technologies to optimize agricultural production.
2. Commercial missions: Facilitate the exchange of knowledge and business opportunities between companies and professionals in the sector.
3. Agrotechnological Innovation Center: A space dedicated to the research, development and implementation of technological solutions for agriculture.
4. Technological Adoption Observatory: A platform to monitor and analyze the adoption of technologies in the agricultural sector, identifying trends and opportunities for improvements.
Metos Latin America is a company specialized in agroclimatic monitoring and SMART cultivation solutions is a leader in precision agriculture technology.
AVAT is an association of ten Venezuelan companies specialized in technological solutions for the field.
Siagrica is an advisory and technology company for optimization and sustainability of plant, animal, forest and fishing crops.
The representatives of the Colombian companies expressed that the alliance with their Venezuelan counterparts will benefit the producers and professionals of the two neighboring nations and predict a positive impact throughout Latin America.
