Cuban couples celebrate collective wedding in a Santiago de Cuba park

In a ceremony held outdoors, eleven Cuban couples formalized their relationship on February 14 in a Santiago de Cuba park.

The massive wedding took place in the famous Céspedes Park of the Oriental Province and was attended by several local authorities, who met along with the lovers when giving the “yes, I want”.

The event was based on the day of love and friendship, selected by these eleven couples to formalize their commitment to notaries of the Civil Registry, who attest to the formality of the event.

According to a report published on YouTube on the local channel, Turquinoteve, the now husbands were able to celebrate with Beatriz Johnson Urrutia, who is the first secretary of the Provincial Committee of the PCC in Santiago de Cuba.

However, it should be noted that the only gift to the bride and groom was the presence of the leader, because far there were already the times when a beer box and a honeymoon reservation were delivered to the newlyweds.

It should be noted that this is not the first event of this type that takes place in Céspedes Park. And in 2019 the same place had been the scene of another mass celebration. On that occasion, only eight couples were part of the circus.

Like now, the ceremony was chaired by the then first secretary of the Communist Party in the provincial head, Niurka Bell Calzado, along with the former president of the Municipal Assembly of Popular Power, Raúl Fornés Valencian. This last picture is today vice president of INDER.

Although for many the number 13 is synonymous with bad luck, on August 13, 2017 it was known that 13 couples gave themselves the «yes I want» as a tribute to the 91 birthday of Fidel Castro, who turned years that same day.

On that occasion, the parties were members of the Revolutionary Armed Forces (FAR). It is unknown if they are still together or if they were victims of the curse of number 13.

Apparently the idea of ​​celebrating in a tight mass liked it a lot and a year after that link, the same scene was repeated with new couples who gathered in the central house of the FAR in Havana for their special day.

Undoubtedly everyone has a different idea of ​​what love is and how one of the most important days of their lives wants to spend.
