Cubans who want to learn to speak Russian on the island will have the opportunity to do so soon, according to the Russian embassy in Havana.
The modality of studies will be through the teleclasses system, which will be broadcast on Cuban television, as other languages such as English and French already broadcast.
On this occasion it is a collaboration between the University of Havana and Cuban television, so that Antillians interested in learning this language can do so from their homes.
It should be noted that this is a project that had already been announced in 2023, but it will not be until this 2025 that is expected to see the light officially. The same will be attended by specialists from the State Institute of Russian Language As Pushkin, in whose charge the advice of the teleclasses will remain.

For his part, Elizaveta Golovaja, who works as a professor at the Pushkin Institute, said that all classes have already been recorded, so the transmission will be carried out very soon. However, it did not offer a specific date of the start of the Russian school year.
Back at 70
It is important to keep in mind that, product to the strategic alliance made between Russia and Cuba from the 60s, thousands of Cubans were formed in the following decades in the Moscow nation. For this reason, the Russian language taught in courses broadcast on radio and television on the island.
At that time and since the 70s, thousands of Cubans went to the European country in studies and work exchanges, so many will have the opportunity to revive the years that lived in Lenin’s homeland.
For its part, the Russian Language Institute, together with the Rossotrudnichastvo program, during 2024 carried out the Pushkin Week, as part of the celebrations for the 225 anniversary of the birth of the famous Russian poet.

It only remains to wait if the constant electric cuts allow the Russian teleclasses to be carried out successfully, close to premiere. Since the blackouts in most of the country have reached up to 10 hours in a row without service.
Who knows if, with a little luck, everyone also passes Cartoon and Russian movies In the usual programming of Cuban TV so that students can review what they learned in teleclasses.
