The forest fires that ravage the Argentine Patagonia since last December have consumed about 37,100 hectares in three provinces in the south of the country, according to the latest official reports. Hundreds of brigades continue to fight fire in adverse climatic conditions, with strong winds, smoke and high temperatures that hinder tasks.
Nahuel Huapi National Park: The fire, which originated at the end of December, has razed 10,200 hectares in the apple sectors and the meek. Around 120 people, including brigades, residents and rangers, work hard in the extinction of the flames.
Lanín National Park: The fire in the Magdalena Valley, which began in early January, has affected 15,200 hectares and remains active despite the efforts of the brigades.
El Bolsón: In this town in the province of Río Negro, the fire has consumed 3,612 hectares, affecting a hundred homes and unfortunately claiming the lives of an 80 -year -old man.
Chubut:
- Epuyén: The fire has been contained after burning 3,530 hectares of vegetation and 70 homes.
- The stony-the hole: A focus has been «circumscribed» after affecting 55 hectares of native and implanted forest.
- Atilio Viglione: The focus that remains active in this rural area has burned 4,396 hectares in the Batea-Río Pico area.

Despite the tireless efforts of the brigades, the situation remains critical in several areas, due to the climatic conditions and the magnitude of the fires. Authorities and emergency teams continue to work hard to control active foci, protect communities and preserve the valuable ecosystems of Argentine Patagonia.
