Nicolás Maduro, invested by the Chavista National Assembly (AN, Parliament) for a third mandate in Venezuela, gave this Saturday 90 days to a commission headed by the Attorney General, Tarek William Saab, to discuss and prepare a definitive project of reform of the reform of the reform of the Constitution, in force since 1999.

The commission is also made up of Maduro’s wife, Cilia Flores; number two of the Chavista administration, Delcy Rodríguez; and Deputy Hermánn Escarrá, and will collaborate the head of the AN, Jorge Rodríguez; the president of the Supreme Court of Justice (TSJ), the Chavista Caryslia Rodríguez; the president of the National Electoral Council (CNE), the also Chavista Elvis Amoroso; and the head of Defense, Vladimir Padrino, among others.
During the extraordinary session of the Legislative, Maduro urged the «Inclusive National Commission» to carry out a «broad debate» with the different sectors and listen to «the whole country», in order to prepare a «beautiful and perfect» proposal which will be presented «definitely» within 90 days.
«Make a great integration effort, national consultation, debate, elaboration, is a great effort of collective wisdom, national wisdom and integration of all opinions,» said the leader of Chavismo, who said he had a «first in his hands a» first Approach work «of the reform that includes» three major issues «and an» point of update «to» the light of the new realities of the country. «

The current Constitution, whose writing was entrusted a constituent assembly convened by referendum by Hugo Chávez (1999-2013), was approved, after a consultation, on December 15, 1999, with 71 % of the votes in favor, in a Day marked by high abstention and a natural disaster in the north of the country.
