Nicolás Maduro, considered Friday that his country «does not depend on licenses», after Tuesday expired the permit that Washington had granted to the American Chevron to operate and export raw from the South American nation.

«Venezuela does not depend on license. Nobody has to give us breathing, to live, to walk, to walk, to exist, ”said Maduro during the inauguration of a production monitoring control room of mixed companies, broadcast by the Venezuelan state television state (VTV).
During the event, Maduro spoke with Petropiar and Petroboskan workers, two companies in which state Petroleos de Venezuela (PDVSA) shares participation with Chevron, which from now on only has a permission for essential maintenance operations, which prohibits him from making new investments, as well as producing or exporting oil from this country.
For his part, the president of PDVSA, Héctor Obregón, supported the position of the Venezuelan head of state, insisting that the oil company does not depend on foreign authorizations.
«We ratify that we do not depend on any license. We depend on the effort we make as Venezuelan workers to contribute those barrels that mean energy, energy that will simply leverage the economic growth that we have been experiencing in the Venezuelan economy, ”he said.
When intervening in the official activity, the Vice President and Minister of Petroleum, Delcy Rodríguez, said Petropiar reached «her highest production milestone throughout the year», without specifying figures.
This Thursday, during a business fair, Rodríguez mentioned that Petroboscán, Petropiar, Petroindependency, Petrojunín, Petrosucre, Petroquiri -Asir, Petro Regional Lake and Cardón IV companies were in «full production», despite the stoppage of Chevron’s activity.
The administration of Biden had granted oil licenses in November 2022 coinciding with the dialogue between the Venezuelan government and the opposition for the call for presidential elections in the country.
The current president of the United States, Donald Trump, had announced last March the withdrawal of Chevron’s license for April 3, but subsequently granted an extension that expired on May 27.
