Mexico displays 600 elements of the National Guard in Nuevo León, border with the US.

The Mexican government on Friday deployed more than 600 members of the National Guard in Nuevo León, border state with Texas (United States), as part of the agreement with the US president, Donald Trump, to combat drug trafficking and migrant flow .

The Secretary of Public Security of Nuevo León, Gerardo Escamilla, declared that, in addition, the State Security Corporation increased its presence in the municipalities of Anahuac, Villaldama and Vallecillo, close to the border with the neighboring northern country.

«The kilometers corresponding to Nuevo León are already reinforced by elements of the National Guard, more than 600 elements have arrived to reinforce the state of force with which it was already counted,» explained the state official.

These actions respond to Trump’s demands, who on Monday requested in a call with the president of Mexico, Claudia Sheinbaum, to increase surveillance at the United States border in exchange for Pausar for a month 25 %tariffs.

Escamilla established that two fundamental axes will be addressed: humanitarian treatment and synthetic drug trafficking.
