Mother of the 11J political prisoner denounces abuse against his son in jail

The political prisoner Jorge Martín Perdomo, a protester of the protests of July 11, 2021, in Mayabeque, was threatened with a pepper gas spray, by an official of the HO Chi Minh correctional work camp, located in Bainoa, province of Mayabeque.

His mother, Martha Perdomo, told Martí News that the threat of the head of the penitentiary center occurred after complaints made by his son, Jorge Martín, about the situation faced by inmates in that correctional.

«These people are leading to torture.

«I want to listen to my son’s voice,» added Perdomo, who said that the last time he visited his son, he told him to wait for the worst because «he didn’t endure anymore.»

«I have gone to the Ministry of Interior, the Council of State and everywhere but I have no answer. Jorgito denounced what was happening and that is the disagreement that the boss had,» he explained.

The brothers Jorge and Nadir Martín Perdomo were sentenced to 8 and 6 years in prison, respectively, for participating in the historical popular protests that took place in Cuba in July 2021.
