The popular mascot of the Duolingo app, the green owl, has died

The popular pet of the «Duolingo» application, a green owl, has gone to a better life, as announced by the US company that owns its rights in a message in the social network X.

In the publication, the owner of the application used by millions of people around the world to learn languages, announced «with great regret» that «duo, formally known as Duolingo’s owl, has died.»

“The authorities are currently investigating the cause of his death and we are fully cooperating. To be honest, he probably died waiting for your lesson to do, but who knows? ”The company wrote.

The American company behind «Duolingo», was founded in 2011 and has its headquarters in Pittsburgh.

Its ‘app’ offers more than 100 courses that cover more than 40 languages, although it has a premium payment version, and became especially popular during the time that Covid Pandemia lasted 19.

«We are aware that I had many enemies, but we kindly ask them to refrain from sharing (to the pet) in the comments,» adds the company.
