They dismantle in Spain criminal organization that sexually exploited Venezuelan and Colombian migrants

A total of 48 people were arrested in Spain accused of being part of a criminal organization that would have exploited more than 1,000 women in the last year, mainly Venezuelan and Colombian migrants, in a police operation in which 48 victims of trafficking were released that They were sexually exploited.

According to the Spanish Police, the arrests took place in Alicante and Murcia, where eight home records were made, in which eight forbidden weapons and more than 150,000 euros in cash were intervened, the news agency disclosed EFE.

930,000 euros were also blocked in bank accounts, 17 properties were immobilized and three brothels were closed. Of the total detainees, six entered provisional prison.

The victims, mainly Venezuelan and Colombian migrants, were deceived in their country to travel to Spain through false job offers in the sectors of aesthetics and cleaning services.

Upon arrival, that offer does not materialize, but the victims were transferred to premises to be sexually exploited.

In addition to the three leaders, the structure of the organization had two other levels, those in charge of the premises and the so -called taxi drivers, who were responsible for transferring women in their departures to perform home services.

Exploited in three stores

The criminal organization had three stores, masked as pensions or hostels, where the victims resided, who were forced to prostitute themselves at any time of the day, being controlled at all times by the complex video-vigilance systems and having limited their freedom of movements , since they could only leave two hours.

The investigations carried out allowed to find out that the framework appropriated at least 40% of money that women received, amounts that were paid directly to those responsible for the organization.

The victims were transferred among the different stores to attract more customers, avoid roots and simulate a legal hospitality business activity. Likewise, the sale of narcotic substances to customers could be detected.

During the year 2024 the Spanish Police have carried out 62 investigations in which 174 victims of sexual trafficking and arrested 792 people have been identified, of which 108 entered provisional prison.

In addition, 2,437 calls in the telephone line 900 10 50 90 and 5,614 communications in the email trafficking was received through the enabled cooperation channels, which adds a total of 8,051 notices of citizens in relation to this type Of crimes, of that total 1,025 they have provided useful information for the work of the investigation groups.
