12 Cubans who achieved their star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame

More than a dozen Cuban artists have managed to immortalize their name in the famous Paseo de las Estrellas de Hollywood.

Names such as Celia Cruz, Emilio Estefan or Andy García, now shine next to the last two aggregate stars, those of the presenters Lili Estefan and Raúl de Molina. The hosts of the popular program El Gordo and La Flaca, recently joined the constellation of the famous walk in Los Angeles.

What is the Hollywood stars

Inaugurated in 1958, the Paseo de las Estrellas is the work of the Californian artist, Oliver Weismuller. The idea is that relevant figures of the arts, had a star in this place, as a tribute to an outstanding trajectory.

Although many of these stars were initially delivered, with the future of time it is sought that they are only rewarded with this tax, artists who still did not have one and whose trajectory has a great impact on the community.

Since 1978, the city of Los Angeles declared the Paseo de la Fama as a cultural and historical good.

This sidewalk, located along Hollywood Boulevard and Vine Street, in Hollywood, California, United States, has more than 2000 five -pointed stars with the names of celebrities to which the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce honors for its contribution to the film industry or series, theater, music and radio.

An interest fact is that, every year there are several nominations of artists to give them a star. However, only 24 and one sponsor must pay the $ 30,000 that each star costs.

The fat and the skinny

Recently, the drivers of the El Gordo and La Flaca television space, Lili Estefan and Raúl de Molina, received the honor of having their own stars on the Paseo de la Fama.

His program, which has air for 27 years, has an audience that has followed them over almost three decades to know everything that happens in the event of the international show.

In the event, two essential Cubans could not miss for Lili, their uncles Gloria and Emilio Estefan, who already have their own shining star in the aforementioned sidewalk. During the emotional ceremony, both told a little of the history of the presenter, who spent their first years of life in Cuba.

For his part, Raúl de Molina said that this is the greatest honor he has received throughout his career. The presenter also had the love of his family on this important day.

As if that were not enough, the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce announced that, every February 27, the official day of Lili Estefan and Raúl de Molina will be held since this year in that Californian city.
