China says that it will not yield to new Trump tariff threats

China warned on Monday that it will not give in to pressures or threats, after US President Donald Trump promised to increase tariffs to Chinese products if Beijing retaliates.

«We have made it clear on numerous occasions to press or threaten China is not the right way to deal with us. China will firmly safeguard their legitimate rights and interests, ”the spokesman for the Chinese embassy in the United States, Liu Pengyu, told AFP.
