A band dedicated to the ‘cybetophafa’ was dismantled in Táchira, a region in western Venezuela Border with Colombia, with the arrest of its six members, including a 15 -year -old teenager, the body of scientific, criminal and criminal investigations (Cicpc) reported on Sunday.
According to a newsletter published in Instagram by the director of the police agency, Douglas Rico, the rest of the detainees are between 19 and 55 years of age, who «generated screens and mirror profiles alluding to recognized banking entities» to obtain the data of the victims and steal their money.
Subsequently, criminals changed the money to Colombian pesos and US dollars, with which they «acquired goods, furniture and immovable,» said the Cicpc.
During the operation, the officials recovered three vehicles – one with registration of the Andean country – «acquired with part of the money obtained», in addition to cell phones, laptops, security cameras and other technological objects.
This band, which operated on «digital platforms,» affected «heritage to more than 200 people,» added the security body on the case.
The Cicpc, according to the bulletin, advances a campaign called ‘school cybersecurity’, in educational centers and communities of the Caribbean country to «promote digital security measures among the smallest of the house.»
The head of the Agency’s computer expert division, Pascual González -traded in the brief -said that the objective is that «girls, boys, young people, parents, representatives and teachers know how to properly use cyberspace and are not victims of cybercriminals.»
