Delcy Rodríguez denies Reuters report on fall in oil exports from Venezuela

The Vice President of Venezuela, Delcy Rodríguez, categorically rejected a report by the Reuters news agency that indicated a 11.5% decrease in exports of crude and fuel oil in the country during the month of March.

Rodríguez, who also leads the hydrocarbons portfolio, denied the veracity of the information and accused Reuters of participating in a «campaign against Venezuela.» Through her Telegram channel, the vice president said that Reuters’ article contained «fallacies» and that the responsible journalist had «altered the true data», also suggesting that the source of that information was from Rafael Ramirez. Contrary to what is reported by Reuters, Rodríguez said that Venezuela’s oil exports experienced 8.78% growth in March.

Delcy Rodriguez, requires Reuters, the rectification of the information they published. The Reuters agency report said that the possible causes of the decline in oil sales are products of the probable tariffs that Donald Trump would impose. Rodríguez demanded that Reuters a rectification and the cessation of what he described as «hoax» against the Venezuelan energy industry, reaffirming the country’s commitment to its recovery process.
