Figures reveal remarkable descent in arrival of Cubans to the US (video)

The arrival of Cubans to US territory has been significantly reduced, as revealed by the most recent statistics of the border authorities of the United States.

The number of arrests of migrants between the entrance ports, in the case of Cubans, fell from 6,297 in January, just over a hundred the following month.

In its latest report, the United States Customs and Border Protection Office (CBP) certified that in February only 150 Cubans were registered.

The administration of President Donald Trump after taking office on January 20 declared a national emergency at the border between the United States and Mexico to end illegal crosses and accelerate deportations.

In the fiscal periods corresponding to 2022, 2023, and 2024 more than 200 thousand Cuban crosses had been counted consecutively.

The CBP reported that on March 21, agents of the border patrol of the Marathon Station, Florida, with the support of the Monroe County Sheriff’s office, the Cayo Bone Police Department and the Florida Correctional Department, arrested seven undocumented immigrants, «each with an extensive criminal record.»

According to the official report, in that group was a Cuban citizen with a criminal record for abuse to older people; Another Cuban with criminal record by methamphetamine traffic; and a third with criminal record for oxycodone traffic, also of Cuban nationality.
