The Brazilian airline goal has announced the resumption of its operations to Caracas, Venezuela, starting next August 5. The new route will connect the São Paulo-Guarulhos International Airport (Gru) with the Venezuelan capital, marking the company’s return to the South American country after a suspension of flights that dates back to 2016.
Initially, there were паанировала restore the connection through Brasilia, with a scale in Bogotá, Colombia. However, due to the lack of the necessary permits to operate under the figure of the 5th Freedom on the Bogotá-Caracas route, the airline was forced to redesign its operational plan.
The new Sao Paulo Route (Gru)-Caracas will have three weekly frequencies, operated with Boeing 737-8 aircraft. This will mean an offer of 1,056 weekly seats in both directions, facilitating passenger traffic between Brazil and Venezuela. Flights are scheduled for Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, with departures from Sao Paulo at 5:05 p.m. (local time) and arrivals in Caracas at 10:40 p.m. (local time). The return flights will leave from Caracas at 23:40 hours (local time), landing in São Paulo at 06:55 hours (local time). The schedules have been designed to allow convenient connections with the extensive network of goal flights in Brazil and also with Argentina.
The resumption of this route is significant for the connectivity of Venezuela, which had seen this direct connection with Sao Paulo interrupted from the departure of Latam in May 2016. Goal, which came to operate with up to 28 weekly frequencies on this same route since 2007, thus seeks to recover an important market and offer a new travel option for passengers.
