Miami: They arrest false Venezuelan tarotist for cheating $ 3,000 to a client

Carmen Valdez de Miguel, a 67 -year -old Venezuelan woman who passed through Tarotista, was arrested in Miami after being accused of defrauding a client for $ 3,000. The police claim that Valdez promised to double the victim’s money, but instead, he disappeared.

According to reports of Univisión, in addition to the charge of fraud, Valdez faces a retention for migratory reasons, as well as accusations of greater theft in third degree and resistance to arrest without violence. The authorities also suspect that Valdez could have used a similar pattern in other fraud.

Although the victim’s name has not been revealed by Law, the Doral Police detailed the sequence of the facts. The case began when the victim found a promotional card of the tarotista in her vehicle.

On March 11, the client contacted Valdez, who initially charged $ 20 for a card reading in an apartment. After reading, Valdez recommended a «spiritual cleaning» and received an advance of $ 200 through a virtual wallet.

On March 19, the client went to the alleged spiritual cleaning, carrying $ 3,000 in cash at the request of Valdez, who assured him that the money would double and be returned that same day.

However, during the ritual, the bag where money was introduced along with other elements broke. At the end, the victim discovered that the bag contained broken eggs and worms, but not a trace of its $ 3,000.

When the man demanded his money, Valdez told him that he could only recover it at the end of the ritual and turn off his candles. Subsequently, he alleged tiredness and asked him to return the next day.

When trying to contact her the next day, the victim did not get an answer. Finally, she decided to denounce Valdez before the authorities, who proceeded to her arrest even though she denied knowing the client.
