Mourning shawl: 12 -year -old boy committed suicide after multiple sexual abuse

The Barlovento community is dismayed after the tragic death of a 12 -year -old boy, who took his life after being a victim of sexual abuse by his stepfather and three other men.

Douglas Rico, director of the Corps of Scientific, Criminal and Criminal Investigations (Cicpc), reported through his Instagram account about the unfortunate event in the Cumbo parish of the Andrés Bello municipality.

According to preliminary investigations, the child was sexually abused by his stepfather, José Efraín González, 52, known as «Cheo», inside a vehicle. Three other individuals identified as Enrique Javier Espinoza (30), aka «catule» participated in the criminal act; Juan José Padrón Abello (30), aka «Kamaguan»; and José Miguel Martínez González (32), nicknamed «Poto».

Research and arrests

Cicpc detectives carried out the relevant investigations and determined that the child made the fatal decision after suffering sexual abuse by the four men. It is presumed that he ingested a toxic substance that caused death.

The four suspects were arrested in Cumbo’s 02 hamlet for their alleged participation in sexual abuse and incitement to the minor’s suicide. During the operation, the CICPC seized two cell phones as evidence.

The detainees were transferred to the Cicpc dungeons and the case was made available to the Prosecutor’s Office 71 National Public Ministry, specialized in crimes that threaten the sexual integrity of children and adolescents.

Consternation and call to justice

The news has generated deep sadness and indignation in the community of Barlovento, which demands justice for the minor and exemplary punishment for those responsible for this atrocious crime. The authorities continue with the investigations to clarify all the details of the case and ensure that the culprits in front of the consequences of their actions.
