Carrasco Álvarez, 47, complained this week because they had taken away more foods from the basic basket of his children and had no cooking.

“They took our eggs. They have removed everything. That they stop lies and deceptions, ”he is heard in the video.

After she was arrested, the local authorities assured on social networks that she had given her a «table and zinc» house and extended job offers.

The video of his protest and subsequent arrest went viral on social networks, where hundreds of Cubans came out in defense of the mother.

The Democratic Transition Council in Cuba (CTDC) denounced the arrest of Carrasco Álvarez.

«This inhuman treatment of people who survive in extreme conditions of helplessness evidences the lack of values and the culture of violence promoted by the regime under the pretext of the defense of their ‘revolution’. These facts constitute practices of state terror,» they said.
