The Administrative Service of Identification, Migration and Foreigners (SAIME) announced on Friday the elimination of the five -year extension for Venezuelan passports, in compliance with the recommendations issued by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO).
According to an Instagram publication, passports issued by the government entity before April 15, 2021 with the duly stamped unique extension may continue to be used until the expiration date.
For those users who processed the passport after that year, they must request the international document under the common procedure by the website or by the regional offices.
«The Saime will dispense with the issuance of the unique extension of five (05) years, as an exceptional alternative for the validity of the Venezuelan ordinary passport,» reads the publication.
Saime updated the passport cost
The cost of the ordinary passport is 216 US dollars or its equivalent in bolivars at the current official exchange rate, for those over 18.

For minors, the agency explained that the document for babies over 3 months to 3 years, the father or representative must pay $ 120. From that age to 17 years, the passport will have an amount of $ 164. Likewise, authorized passports will have an amount of $ 290, $ 310 and $ 350 for babies, children and adults, respectively.
