From this May 5, 2025, Cuban citizens who want to travel to Sweden and other Schengen space countries can benefit from a new digital system implemented by the Sweden Migration Agency.

This advance will allow applicants to complete the online visa application form, make the corresponding payment and schedule an appointment through the official portal of the agency.

This change aims to simplify and expedite the process of obtaining the Schengen visa, which is necessary for Cuban citizens to enter and remain up to 90 days in countries such as Sweden, Finland, Norway, Denmark, Estonia and Iceland.

Procedure for Visa Schengen request for Cubans

To start the process, applicants must access the Sweden Migration Agency website and complete the online application form. During this process, the payment of the visa rate and the programming of an appointment at the Sweden Embassy in Havana will be required.

It is important to note that, although the form and payment are made online, applicants must submit in person at the Embassy for the collection of biometric data and the delivery of additional documents.

In the event that applicants in front of difficulties with online payment due to the lack of international credit cards, they are recommended to complete the application and schedule the online appointment.

Subsequently, you can seek the assistance of a trusted person to make the payment in their name through the “My page for E-Visa” of the portal.

REQUIREMENTS FOR THE APPLICATION

• Applicants must submit the following documents:
• Valid passport, with a validity that exceeds in at least three months the return date scheduled to Cuba.
• Round -trip plane ticket reserve for a maximum period of 90 days.
• Pagured travel insurance, with minimal coverage of 30,000 euros for medical expenses in the Schengen area, valid during the trip dates.
• Completed and signed visa application form.
