Táchira: Man is arrested for attempted progressive poisoning to his sister

Officials of the Corps of Scientific, Criminal and Criminal Investigations (Cicpc) achieved the capture of José Francisco López Varela, 67, this Thursday in San Cristóbal, Táchira State. The detainee is allegedly involved in the murder attempt of his 69 -year -old sister, motivated by coexistence problems.

The investigation began after the complaint filed by the victim against the Cicpc, who suspected that his brother tried to poison her progressively.

The director of the Cicpc, Douglas Rico, detailed the modus operandi of the alleged aggressor: «It could be determined what, José Francisco, having knowledge that his sister consumed coffee in a thermos, applied a white dusty substance, so that, through each cup he took, he consumed it.»

After receiving the complaint, the Cicpc activated the corresponding investigations, confirming López Varela’s intention to poison his sister gradually. Preliminary investigations point to severe coexistence problems as the trigger for this serious fact.

José Francisco López Varela has been made available to the Public Ministry for the corresponding legal proceedings. The CICPC continues the investigations to completely clarify the facts.
