Trump says the CBS television channel should lose its broadcast license

The US president, Donald Trump, suggested that the CBS television channel lose its broadcast license or is fined by the federal telecommunications regulator for a segment of the «60 minute» program critical of the position of its administration towards Greenland and Ukraine.

«Almost every week 60 minute (…) mentions Trump’s name in a repeal and defamatory way,» Trump said last night in a post in the Truth social network where he says that one of the reports published by the prestigious program «shows our country, led by me, in a false, biased and fraudulent way.»

«They should lose their license! Hopefully the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), led by the highly respected President Brendan Carr will impose fines and maximum punishments, something substantial, for their illegal behavior, ”added the president.

Trump sued CBS in October for an «60 minute» interview with his electoral rival Kamala Harris in which the Republican ensures that the program tried to show the Democratic candidate in a positive way.

Paramount, owner of CBS News, said the demand, that claims about 20,000 million dollars, is an affront to the first amendment of the Constitution that protects freedom of expression.
