Venezuela School ship undertakes a new instructional trip to the Caribbean

The Venezuelan school ship Simón Bolívar sailed this Saturday in his thirtieth cruise of instruction abroad to the Caribbean, in addition to Mexico and Honduras, from the port of La Guaira, near Caracas, where he was fired by Nicolás Maduro, who swore for a third mandate on January 10 after his questioned re -election.

«The Caribbean seas will go on this occasion to bring the example of the morals, honor and dignity of Venezuelan military youth to all the brothers peoples of our beautiful, Pacific and Great Caribbean,» Maduro said in an act transmitted by the Venezuelan state television (VTV) state channel (VTV).

The Chavista leader gave the 190 crew members of the ship a picture with the image of the José Gregorio Hernández Beatro, after last month Pope Francis approved the canonization of the well -known ‘Doctor of the Poor’.

The ship, according to VTV, will travel 6,000 miles to visit Granada, Antigua and Barbuda, Honduras, Mexico and Cuba, and will return to Venezuela on June 28.

Maduro pointed to the crew, members of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB) and the Bolivarian Military University, who over time has achieved «rebuild the original doctrine, the Bolivarian» of the military institution.

«We have managed to rebuild the bases of a powerful Bolivarian, revolutionary armed, is in the hands of you to continue consolidating and building towards the future so that our country is respected,» he added.

He also reiterated that the «seas to be delimited», in reference to the territorial dispute with Guyana, are from Venezuela.

«The Esequibo is ours and our Navy has to be lent to exercise its sovereignty every day, every year,» he added.

The Prime Minister of San Vicente and the Granada, Ralph Gonsalves, urged Venezuela and Guyana to «resume diplomacy» before the growing tension through the region in dispute of the Esequibo, after a visit to Caracas on Tuesday.

Gonsalves, who met with Maduro and the president of Guyana, Irfaan Ali, separately this week, «warned that an escalation towards an open conflict could economically and socially devastate both nations, and destabilize the entire region of Latin America and the Caribbean, which could cause a humanitarian and refugee problem,» according to a statement from his government.
