Young Venezuelan lost its two arms after being savagely attacked by dogs in Bogotá

A 19 -year -old young Venezuelan was attacked by a group of dogs in the town of Bosa, south of Bogotá, Colombia. The bites were so wild that he lost his two ears and both arms.

The case was reported by Caracol Radio, where Guillermo Berrío, father of the young man, denounced that the community had repeatedly warned about the danger that dogs represented, but there was no response from the authorities.

«They have bitten several people before, my son is the fifth victim,» said the parent.

The attack occurred in an area near the Potrerito neighborhood, where animals usually around. Neighbors have reported similar cases, including that of a woman who suffered wounds in the neck, abdomen and legs days before the Venezuelan attack

Berrio said that with his son «everything was more serious.» «If they had not helped, the dogs would have killed it,» he said.

The Creole was initially transferred to the Bosa hospital, but then sent to the Kennedy hospital due to the seriousness of his injuries. There, doctors decided to amputate their arms due to severe infection.

The Bosa doctor reported that he had more than 150 bites. «The animals torn off his ears, the only parts that did not bit their feet and their intimate zone,» said his father.

Despite the seriousness of the case, the family ensures that they have not received contact or support from any district entity.

«No one has communicated with us. We do not know what will happen to those dogs or who is responsible,» said the young man’s father.

Given the lack of action, the community demands an immediate response from the authorities to prevent a similar attack from being repeated. «Today was my son, tomorrow he can be a child,» Berrío warned.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the dogs were not street, as the community thought, since they always saw them in the same place without anyone.

The Institute of Animal Protection, reported that the owner of the dogs voluntarily handed them over to the police. These animals will be delivered to the Ministry of Health so that they are responsible for monitoring.
