Martha Perdomo, mother of political prisoners Julio Jorge and Nadir Martín Perdomo, denounced the infrahuman conditions suffered by one of her children in the Ho Chi Minh camp, in Bainoa, province of Mayabeque.
The woman had been news of her son Jorge Martín Perdomo for 21 days because the telephone service does not work.
«It is inhuman after almost four years of being unjustly imprisoned, that by the way they continue to mistreat them and torture them psychologically,» said the woman in a video on her social networks.
The mother described the conditions of what he describes as «torture center», and where her child is deprived of the right to sunbathe and make phone calls to her relatives. Most of the day «they contain it along with other prisoners in a place with a filtration of masonal waters and full of people, where they cannot even concentrate on a study,» he said.
There is also no water in the place «because three months ago the turbine broke, sometimes they have to load the buckets and there are days that have to be left without bathing,» said the mother.
The Nadir brothers and Jorge Martín Perdomo were sentenced to six and eight years in prison respectively for joining the massive demonstrations of July 11, 2021 in San José de Las Lajas, province of Mayabeque.
The trial took place at the end of January 2022, where they were convicted of the crimes of «public disorders», «contempt», «propagation of epidemic» and «attack».
Since Martha was imprisoned, she has not stopped denouncing the situation of her children. “I’m not going to shut up because they are unjustly imprisoned. My family changed completely with the imprisonment of my children, it is too strong, it is very unfortunate, but while I stayed in my veins, I will continue fighting for them, ”said Martí News in an interview.
Nadir, 40, has a degree in English and French. He worked as a professor in nursing and computer schools. Jorge, 38, is cybernetic and programming teacher.
