Venice, in the Northeast of Italy, prepares to host the wedding of the founder of Amazon, Jeff Bezos, and the exprescent Lauren Sánchez, in a celebration that will run from June 24 to 26 and that will include multiple exclusive events with about 250 guests per night.
The celebrations will be extended for three days and will be carried out in several locations that will be kept secret until the last moment, to guarantee the safety and privacy of the parties, local media reported Wednesday.
The mayor of the city, Luigi Brugnaro, confirmed that Venice will be the scene of one of the most outstanding links of the year and pointed out that the event «will have a millionaire economic impact» in the territory, in statements this Wednesday to the Italian newspaper ‘Corriere del Veneto’.
At the moment it has transpired that the couple has reserved five of the most luxurious hotels in the city: Gritti Palace, Hotel Danieli, Aman Venice, Belmond Hotel Cipriani and The St. Regis Venice, in addition to special moorings for their yachts.
Considered one of the richest men in the world, Bezos, 61, is the founder of Amazon and owner of ‘The Washington Post’ and ‘Goldwyn Mayer Metro’, which makes a wedding without budget limitations that will bring together personalities from the business world, entertainment and politics.
The list of guests for the link between the technological magnate and the journalist is unknown, but the local media speculate with the presence of Hollywood celebrities and other celebrities.
In addition, Italian newspapers have described the wedding as “the event of the century”, comparing it with that of George and Amal Clooney, also held in Venice in September 2014. EFE
