Chevron expects the USA to grant new license to extend operation in Venezuela beyond May 27

The American oil company Chevron maintains the «lobby» in search of obtaining an agreement that allows you to maintain its operations in Venezuela beyond May 27, 2025.

It should be remembered that at the end of February, US President Donald Trump announced that he would revoke license 41 that allowed Chevron to operate the mixed companies he has with PDVSA. In later days the measure was completed with the 41A license, which gave the company a term until April 2 to withdraw from Venezuela.

However, after the «Lobby» of Chevron, he got the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC), of the Treasury Department, replaced the 41A license with the 41b, which extends the period of operations until May 27.

Now, according to an economic exclusive report, cited by Economic Bitácora, Chevron believes that you can achieve a new license to continue its activities in Venezuela.

Chevron’s main argument to operate in Venezuela despite the sanctions to PDVSA has always been related to the fact that, in this way, it can collect what Venezuela owes him.
