USA reports about Cuban deportation by air

The United States confirmed Martí News on Friday that this week another deportation operation of Cuban citizens by air took place.

The Interior Ministry of Cuba had reported the day before 82 irregular migrants were returned to the island on a flight from the United States.

«ICE can confirm that this deportation flight was completed,» a spokesman for the United States immigration and customs control service (ICE) said in an email.

The Cuban part said that the operation occurred «as part of the bilateral migratory agreements.»

In the aircraft that landed on April 24 at the José Martí International Airport, 74 men and eight women were traveling, Cuban authorities said.

With the administration of President Donald Trump, four deportation flights with Cuban immigrants have been made.

This month the US Immigration and Customs Control. Arrest of Daniel Morejón García57, arrested at his residence after an investigation carried out by ICE.

A statement from this federal entity indicated that during the investigation, the agents of the order obtained official documents of the Cuban government and information from reliable sources that indicated that Morejón García had not revealed their affiliations to the Communist Party of Cuba and his work as agent of the Ministry of Interior of Cuba in their immigration requests.

The official report added that Morejón García allegedly served as president of the National Defense Council in the Artemisa, Cuba region, and was a member of the quick response brigades.

The authorities claim that Morejón García was activated during the protest of July 11, 2021 and that there were evidence that he assaulted several protesters.
