Ecuador records more than 700 homicides for the third consecutive month

Violence continues to climb in Ecuador and for the third consecutive month left a balance of more than 700 homicides.

In the past months of December, January and February there were 710, 793 and 736 violent deaths in the southern country, figures that exceeded 2023 and 2024, as a consequence of this reality, Ecuador has been at times as the most violent country in the region.

The province of Guayas is the most beaten by violence, in January 395 and in February 384 were registered respectively.

Police indicate that the increase is mainly due to disputes above all territorial between bands dedicated to drug trafficking.
