The rain did not stop the Cuban exiles who congregated this Saturday against the emblematic Versailles restaurant in the city of Miami to demand the release of political prisoners in Cuba.
The demonstration was specially motivated by opposition leaders José Daniel Ferrer and Félix Navarro, imprisoned again this week, after the vice president of the Popular Supreme Court, Maricela Sosa Ravelo, announced the revocation by provincial courts of probation and orders the return to prison of both.
Among those present was the brother of the founder of the Patriotic Union of Cuba, Luis Enrique Ferrer, and activist Ramón Saúl Sánchez, leader of the Democracy Movement.
Both denounced the systematic violations of human rights on the island and demanded greater international solidarity with those imprisoned.
The demonstration was convened by the Democracy Movement, the Unpacu exile movement and was supported by the Blanco Ladies.
The protesters also demanded the liberation of all the Cubans prey for political reasons, among which they highlighted Saily Navarro, convicted with their father, Félix, in the demonstrations of July 11, 2021.
During the act, slogans and support songs to the internal opposition were heard and they were multiple called to maintain international pressure on the Cuban regime.
The participants reaffirmed their commitment to the cause of freedom and democracy in Cuba.
